The Exceptional Diva team

About Us

Who We Are

We are a non-governmental organisation based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Southern Nigeria. Founded by Nancy Stephen-Amadi in January 2015 and incorporated with the CAC on 5 November 2018, The Exceptional Diva provides platforms, aid and opportunities for underserved communities. Our work began with women and the girl-child and has grown to include school outreach, public health and civic sensitisation campaigns. Through monetary aid, seminars, trainings and educational materials, we work so that there is one less person going hungry for food or knowledge.

Our Mission

To inspire, empower, and motivate individuals to become better versions of themselves, while reaching and supporting people whose lives have been affected by poverty, lack, and limited opportunities.

Through the collective efforts of dedicated volunteers, leaders, impact makers, and social workers, we are building a sustainable platform that creates meaningful change, restores hope, and provides practical support to individuals and communities across Nigeria and beyond, regardless of race, gender, background, or creed.

Our Vision

To build a world where every underprivileged person has access to opportunities, dignity, support, and the resources needed to thrive.

By 2030, we aspire to become a trusted first point of connection for civic-conscious men and women who are committed to extending hope, dignity, and meaningful support to women, girls, and vulnerable members of society.

Our Long-Term Goals

  • Establish Community Support Centres: Create centres for the less privileged in strategic locations, providing access to support, empowerment, learning, and essential resources.
  • Scholarships, Grants and Opportunities: Provide sponsored scholarships, educational assistance, skills-development opportunities, and grants to individuals with limited access to resources.
  • Media and Community Outreach: Establish impactful television and radio programmes that raise awareness, educate communities, amplify important social issues, and inspire positive change.
  • Build Sustainable Partnerships: Develop strong partnerships with government agencies, corporate organisations, institutions, communities, philanthropists, and individuals who share our commitment to creating lasting social impact.
  • Expand Our Reach: Grow our programmes and initiatives across Nigeria and, in time, beyond Nigeria, reaching more people and communities with hope, opportunity, and practical support.
